DAY -13 TUESDAY 29-07-25

I arrived at school by 9:20 AM and as usual, signed the attendance register in the office before heading to my designated seating area. The morning assembly began at 9:40 AM. I had no substitution duty during the morning session, nor did I have any classes, so I used the time to complete some of my pending tasks.During the lunch break, all the trainee and I went to the refectory and participated in serving food to the students as part of the midday meal programme.During lunch break, we Participated in mid-day meal programme and served lunch to students.

Today District Educational officer (DEO) Visited the school. So after lunch break, he arranged a meeting with us. The meeting lasted around 30 minutes As usual school dispersed at 3:45 pm. By 4 pm we signed the register and leave the school.

REFLECTION ON THE DEO VISIT

Today, the DEO visited our school and conducted a meeting in the afternoon, shortly after we had our lunch. During the meeting, the DEO shared several important guidelines and suggestions aimed at improving the overall quality of teaching and learning in the classroom.

The DEO emphasized the need for conducting activity-oriented classes, where students are actively engaged in the learning process through meaningful and interactive tasks. Such classes help develop critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.

Another key point highlighted was the importance of classroom discipline. Teachers are expected to manage their classes effectively to maintain a peaceful and focused learning environment. The DEO stressed that the teacher should not only enforce discipline but also model it through consistent and respectful behavior.

The concept of a child-centered classroom was also discussed in detail. The DEO encouraged teachers to plan lessons that cater to the needs, interests, and learning levels of all students. Teaching should focus on student participation rather than a one-way delivery of content.

In addition, the DEO pointed out the importance of neat and clear blackboard writing. It should be legible and well-organized so that students can follow the lesson easily. While writing on the board, teachers should maintain eye contact with the class frequently to ensure that students are attentive and to monitor their understanding.

Overall, the session was very informative and served as a reminder of our responsibilities as educators. The instructions provided by the DEO will surely help us improve our teaching methods and create a more effective and engaging classroom environment.

I had the opportunity to observe the class along with her, which gave me valuable insights. After the session, the teacher provided positive feedback and shared constructive suggestions to improve the teaching process, which I found very helpful.

CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In this week students of 9 I, I taught the topic "DIFFERENT TYPES OF NUTRIENTS CONTAINED FOOD AND FUNCTIONS, FOOD PLATE AND ITS IMPORTANCE, NUTRITION IN AMOEBA AND HYDRA" in the chapter 'DIGESTION AND TRANSPORT OF NUTRIENTS ' The reflective journal was also completed this week.

 PEER OBSERVATION

I had the opportunity to attend a peer observation class along with Sreedevi Miss, where we observed the teaching session of another teacher trainee. It was a valuable and insightful experience. Watching someone else handle the class helped me reflect on my own teaching methods. I learned many strategies on how to improve classroom management, student engagement, and content delivery.

One of the positives I observed was the trainee's clear and confident communication. The teacher used visual aids effectively, which made the concepts easier for students to understand. The classroom environment was friendly and students seemed comfortable to interact and ask questions. Time management during the lesson was also commendable.

Overall, the session gave me a broader perspective on teaching practices. It helped me identify what works well in a classroom and what aspects need more attention. This observation has definitely motivated me to improve my own teaching skills further.

  EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

On 30-07-25 Wednesday 'Swadesh Mega Quiz' for UP and HS students was conducted in school auditorium as part of the' Nalla Paadam Padhathi', food packets were also collected from each class

Before displaying any aids give student proper instruction. You have written chart as aid in lesson plan but you displayed cutout.  Silent video should be avoided

3. DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON (SATISFACTORY)

The cut out Showing body parts of amoeba before presenting it, instruction should be given about it like observing the parts, ask one or two students to read out parts, Confusing activity is noted. Visibility of parts is poor. Teacher should explain if the video is not audible for students. Students have just told the answer from the flow chart Only current construction of knowledge is not noted . Correct learning aids was not seen to develop the lessons. Video was not used for explanation. Completely disorderly mannered presentation. Completion of activity like reading of chart, flow chart of Hydra nutrition by student was not done. Before giving group activity, tell them about what they have to do. Instruction was improper.
