  Indian Newspaper Day, celebrated on January 29, commemorates the launch of the first Indian newspaper, Hickey’s Bengal Gazette, in 1780. Even with the rise of digital media, newspapers remain a reliable source of information. Indian Newspaper Day serves as a reminder to honor the contributions of print media and its profound impact on society.

 On January 29, Sabarigiri College of Education hosted a lively celebration of Indian Newspaper Day. The event focused on the importance of newspapers in influencing public opinion and raising awareness. Arathi, the host, warmly welcomed the audience, setting the tone for the program. Muhsina then gave an insightful speech, emphasizing the role of newspapers in contemporary society. Jaseena Miss followed with an inspiring talk about the evolution of print media and its ongoing relevance.

 A fascinating video presentation highlighted the history and influence of newspapers, providing the audience with a visual exploration of journalism. Afterward, Aparna conducted an interactive quiz, testing the participants' knowledge of newspapers and their societal contributions. The event proved to be both educational and engaging, leaving the audience with a deeper appreciation for the power of journalism. Through this celebration, the importance of newspapers in promoting democracy, education, and awareness was effectively underscored.
