A VISIT TO BUD SCHOOL
A VISIT TO BUD SCHOOL
DATE :31 JANUARY 2025
On January 31, 2025, the NSS volunteers from Sabarigiri College of Education visited Buds School, a rehabilitation center for mentally challenged students, located in Alayaman under Alayaman Panchayath. Their goal was to interact with the students, bring them joy, and provide educational materials. Accompanied by faculty members Jaseena Miss, Sreedevi Miss, and Pratibha Miss, the volunteers traveled by school bus. Although the school has 32 students, only a few were present during the visit.
The program began with a warm introduction by Aravind, setting a welcoming atmosphere for the event. This was followed by various cultural performances to entertain and engage with the students. Aishwarya and Ashna performed solo songs, while Ashna and Joysi sang a duet. Pooja also sang a song, and Soorya mesmerized the audience with a dance performance.
In addition to the volunteers' performances, the students of Buds School showcased their talents as well, with acts such as mimicry, singing, piano playing, and poetry recitation. Their enthusiasm and happiness were clearly visible throughout the event.
To make the day even more special, sweets were distributed to the students, and the volunteers gave them books and crayons as a token of love and encouragement. The children were thrilled with these thoughtful gifts.
The visit to Buds School was an enriching and heartwarming experience for the NSS volunteers. It offered them a chance to understand the special needs of the children while spreading happiness through cultural and educational activities. The event was a true reflection of the spirit of NSS—service, compassion, and social responsibility. The volunteers left with a deep sense of fulfillment, eager to continue such initiatives in the future.
