CONSTITUTION DAY OF INDIA
CONSTITUTION DAY OF INDIA
DATE:26 NOVEMBER 2024
Constitution Day of India, also called Samvidhan Divas, is observed every year on November 26th to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly in 1949. On this day, the Constitution was officially approved, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950, establishing India as a sovereign republic. The day is dedicated to honoring the principles enshrined in the Constitution, which ensures fundamental rights and upholds the values of justice, equality, and democracy. Across the country, government institutions, schools, and organizations host events to raise awareness about the Constitution's importance and its role in shaping the nation. It is also a time to reflect on the core values of liberty, fraternity, and integrity that form the foundation of India’s democratic system.
As part of the NSS, we celebrated Constitution Day on November 26. The program was hosted by Pooja, who introduced the event. Revathy read the preamble of the Constitution, while Vineetha led the pledge. Shamnad conducted a quiz session with five groups, each consisting of two members. Following the quiz, a group of teacher trainees sang a patriotic song in honor of the nation. Aravind concluded the event by delivering the vote of thanks.
Celebrating Constitution Day helps foster national pride, encourages informed citizenship, and promotes progress toward a just and equitable society, ensuring the Constitution's principles continue to guide future generations.
