REFLECTION ON CURRICULUM AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY
In the second hour today, I had a substitution class for 6th standard. Another teacher trainee and I entered the classroom, where the students stood and greeted us with "Good morning." We introduced ourselves and encouraged the students to introduce themselves as well. Afterward, we invited them to sing, and a few students volunteered. We left the class when the bell rang.During the sixth hour, I joined Muhsina sulaiman from the Natural Science option to observe a class taught by the subject teacher. We attended a 10th standard class in the afternoon from 2:10 PM to 2:45 PM, specifically Division D, which had a total of 35 student 18 boys and 16 girls-though only 34 were present today. The teacher, Sister Neethu, began the class with a silent prayer and introduced the topic "Body Fluids and Defence Mechanism" from the fifth unit, "Soldiers of Defence." She wrote the topic on the blackboard and engaged the students by asking questions about the previous lesson. As the class progressed, she prompted students to refer to their textbooks and describe different types of white blood cells (WBCs), writing them on the blackboard as they spoke. The teacher then detailed the functions of each WBC, actively involving the students by asking questions throughout. To explain the inflammatory response, she used the example of inflammation in wounds, helping students connect the topic to real-life scenarios. The lesson concluded with her checking for any doubts and randomly asking students questions based on their roll numbers. The class wrapped up at 2:45 PM.
