ROLE PLAY

ROLE PLAY on the topic "Alcoholism"

DATE :27 AUGUST 2024

Role play is an engaging and interactive activity where participants take on specific roles or characters to explore different scenarios, often for educational, training, or entertainment purposes. It helps individuals enhance their communication, problem-solving, and empathy skills by stepping into the shoes of others. In educational contexts, role play is used to simulate real-life situations, aiding learners in developing practical skills in areas such as conflict resolution, customer service, and negotiation. It is also an effective tool in therapy, allowing individuals to confront personal issues, gain new perspectives, and explore emotions in a safe and supportive environment.

Anusha Miss, an intern for her M.Ed program, guided us in conducting a role play. She divided us into five groups, each assigned a different topic from the 4th unit of Philosophy. The first group was tasked with the topic of alcoholism, the second with corruption, the third with terrorism, the fourth with drug abuse, and the fifth with violence against women.

I was part of the first group, where we discussed alcoholism and examined events occurring around the world due to this issue. After a thorough discussion, we shared our views with Anusha Miss, who helped us prepare a script. We then practiced the role play with her guidance.
